About us

Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (hereinafter referred to as “LVTC”) is one of the first batch of full-time comprehensive higher vocational colleges approved by the state in 1998. As a national high-quality higher vocational college, LVTC is a national model of higher vocational college (totally 100 in China and only 2 in Guangxi). Furthermore, LVTC has been rated as one of China’s Top 50 Model Higher Vocational Colleges in Terms of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Top 50 National Vocational Colleges in terms of Teaching Resources, Top 50 National Vocational Colleges in Terms of Teaching Management, and Top 50 Vocational College in Terms of Student Management.      

LVTC covers an area of 753,000 square meters, with about RMB 950 million total value of fixed assets and 820,000 books. Owning 1 national skills master studio, 1 national collaborative innovation center, and 142 internal and external training bases in total, including 2 national productive training bases, 10 national demonstrative training bases, 5 autonomous region level model characteristic major learning and training bases, 14 demonstrative higher vocational education training bases of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 2 demonstrative higher vocational education construction training bases of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and 2 Liuzhou municipal training bases with an investment of RMB 10 million, LVTC is the higher vocational college with the most advanced training conditions and the most complete functions in the entire Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.      

There are more than 12,000 full-time higher vocational students and 790 faculty members in LVTC, including 637 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 60% have studied overseas, 441 have dual-qualifications (both theoretical teaching and practical teaching qualifications), accounting for 69.23% of the total number, 326 have postgraduate degree or master's degree, and 268 have senior professional titles. With 1 national teaching team, 1 first-batch national educational innovation team of vocational education teachers, 8 autonomous region level teaching teams, 1 national teaching master, 1 national prominent teacher, 1 national model teacher, 2 national outstanding educators and 8 autonomous region level teaching masters, LVTC is the higher vocational college with the largest number of national and autonomous region level teaching teams and teaching masters in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

LVTC has established 9 schools, including School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Electronic Information Engineering, School of Environmental and Food Engineering, School of Finance and Logistics Management, School of Trade and Tourism Management, School of Art, School of General Education and School of Marxism. It has set up 56 majors, including 6 national backbone majors, 10 national key majors, 1 national demonstrative major site, 15 characteristic majors at the autonomous region level, 3 advantageous characteristic majors at the autonomous region level, 5 demonstrative characteristic major and training bases at the autonomous region level, 1 top-quality major at the autonomous region level and 14 excellent majors at the autonomous region level. At present, LVTC offers 6 state-level top-quality courses, 5 courses sharing national top-quality resources, 1 state-level educational reform pilot major and 27 top-quality courses at the autonomous region level. Moreover, LVTC has dominated the construction of 1 state-level teaching resource pool (alternative pool) and 3 professional teaching resource pools at the autonomous region level, as well as participated in the construction of 5 state-level professional teaching resource pools. It has obtained 7 state-level teaching achievements. Therefore, LVTC is the higher vocational college with maximum state-level teaching achievement awards.

LVTC has a vocational skills appraisal institute, providing training on appraisal of junior, intermediate and senior vocational qualifications for 40 types of work such as electromechanical, automotive, computer, economics and arts. It has been actively providing enterprises with "order-based" talent training services, technology research & development services, and other services, and has trained and appraised nearly 20,000 person-time per year.

In order to deepen the internationalized level of running schools and introduce international standards for talent training, LVTC has conducted various exchanges and cooperation with 18 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. It has actively introduced AHK and HWK Skills Certification Standards, British Vocational Qualification Standards, European Sommelier Qualification Standards, Construction Machinery Industry (LiuGong) Standard, Communication Industry (ZTE) Standards, and other advanced international occupational competency standards and transformed them into its own student career competency standards, course standards, teacher qualification standards, and training base construction standards. It has implemented the Ministry of Education-DMG MS CNC Specialty Field Cooperation Project, FANUC CNC System Application Technology Center Project, Joint Demonstrative Training Center Project of Germany Siemens Advanced Automation Technology, Ministry of Education- Sino-German Automotive Vocational Education Project (SGAVE), British Modern Apprenticeship Project, German “Dual System” Training Project, Liuzhou Germany AHK Vocational Training Center Project and China Project of European School for Sommeliers successively. Furthermore, LVTC has built a global customer experience center together with LiuGong, one of the Fortune 500 companies, thus it is the only one higher vocational college in China integrated with the global training system for construction machinery enterprises. It has also built LiuGong-LVTC Al-Qahtani Institute along with Al-Qahtani and LiuGong to cultivate craftsman talents meeting Chinese standards, and has become the first higher vocational college in China outputting mechanical engineering professional standards and resources to international students.

LVTC has also took the initiative to build Guangxi Automobile Industry Vocational Education Group along with local colleges, enterprises and trade associations, which has become the first batch model of vocational education group in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In addition, the “Youth Innovation Practice Base” jointly established by LVTC and Guangxi Automobile Group, and the “New Energy Vehicle Talents Training Base” and “New Energy Vehicle Training Center” jointly established by LVTC and SGMW are aimed at providing enterprises with technical skilled reserve talents. In addition, together with Liudong New Area of Guangxi Auto City, LVTC has established Liuzhou Institute of Collaborative Innovation, undertaken the construction of Liuzhou Academician Station of CAI Hegao for Robots (under construction), and built Guangxi Autonomous Region-level Technology Transfer Demonstration Organization successively; Moreover, LVTC has jointly established Liuzhou Industrial Robot Industry Cluster Cultivation Base and ABB Industrial Robot Training Center with Liudong New Area of Guangxi Auto City, Liuzhou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Fortune 500 companies and China’s top 500 enterprises. Meanwhile, voluntarily cooperating with famous universities and research institutions at home and abroad, LVTC has built 1 autonomous region level engineering technology center, 1 academician workstation, and 5 Liuzhou municipal level engineering technology centers to provide high-end technology support and core technology services for the development of local enterprises.

LVTC is actively cooperating with enterprises in running the college. It has established ZTE ICT School, High Flying Education School, HQ Management Accounting School, B&J Internet School and Sunyunk Software Engineering School together with enterprises, so as to educate students in an integrated mode by both the College and enterprises, promote deep integration between the College and enterprises, and jointly improve the quality of talent cultivation.

In order to greatly improve the quality of modern management, LVTC has taken the lead in introducing Criteria for Performance Excellence (an American Criteria) and developing the Quality Criteria for Excellent Performance of Vocational Education. Based on the core of improving talent training quality and with the core objective of customer (student, employer, parent, government, etc.) satisfaction and education and teaching quality, LVTC is trying the best to form a quality culture of full participation, quality first and excellence pursuing. LVTC is the first higher college in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to set an “one-step” integrated service center in the campus to realize 24-hour response and all-round coverage. It has introduced the CRP digital campus information platform, established the cloud computing center and smart campus, and realized campus-wide wireless network coverage.  

With above 75% of graduates employed in Guangxi and more than 60% employed locally in Liuzhou, LVTC has been providing strong technical and skilled talent support for the high-quality development of local industries. For 18 consecutive years, LVTC has been appraised as the Advanced Unit in College Graduate Employment Work in Guangxi. For example, Qiu Liubin, the representative of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the winner of “National Outstanding Youth Post Expert” title and “National May Day Labor Medal”, Yuan Yin, winner of China “May 4th Youth Medal” and the title of “National Pacesetter of Women Rendering Meritorious Service”, and Liang Hua and Fang Jiulin, winners of “Guangxi May Day Labor Medal”, are all the graduates of LVTC. Many graduates have already become the key technical personnel of some enterprises, winning a good reputation for the college.

With the strong support of governments at all levels and in the great concern of all social circles, LVTC has achieved fruitful results in the construction and development. It has been awarded with the titles of National Advanced Vocational Education Unit, Advanced Unit in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education among the Higher Vocational Colleges in China, National Model Unit for Young Workers Skills Appraisal (the only college in Guangxi winning this title), one of the First Batch of National Model Units of Economical Public Institutions, one of the First Batch of Outstanding Information-based Education Pilot Units, one of the First Batch of National Vocational Education Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Team Project Initiation and Construction Units, Guangxi Advanced Unit for Electronics Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal, Outstanding Contribution Award for Highly-skilled Talent Training of Guangxi (the only college in Guangxi winning this title), Guangxi Excellent Employment Training Bases for Labor Transfer of Poor Villages (the only college in Guangxi winning this title), Advanced Vocational Education Entity of Guangxi, Advanced Collective in terms of Teaching Reform and Management among Higher Colleges and Universities in Guangxi, Civilized Entity of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Safe and Civilized Campus of Guangxi Colleges and Universities, etc.  

Adhering to the mission of “Making students be the first choice of enterprises” and the value of “staying realistic and pragmatic and pursuing excellence” and implementing the development strategy of “international leading, connotation upgrading, simultaneous development of six elements and building a famous higher vocational college with distinctive characteristics”, LVTC has always been striving for realizing the vision of “becoming a renowned and respectable higher vocational college”, creating a higher vocational college with Chinese characteristics, and contributing “LVTC wisdom” to world vocational education.
